In the vibrant, globally-minded city that Auckland has become, the downtown precinct has more things-to-do and places-to-be than anywhere. And now you can enjoy quality freehold living in the heart of it – a short walk from worldclass events, exquisite dining, trains and ferries, shopping, university, the office perhaps, and much more.
Conceived with the discerning purchaser in mind, meticulously designed to the finest detail and built to last the ages, The Antipodean at 39 Beach Road presents exciting possibilities for a sophisticated, urban lifestyle.
VISION
As Auckland follows the lead of major international cities, apartments are attracting owner-occupiers who would have traditionally remained in the suburbs.
“We are now in the second generation of apartments” explains principal architect Paul Brown “so we’re creating residences with a more long-term vision; hence the highly livable spaces, superb quality and robust infrastructure to meet this longevity.” And while it may seem obvious, the best apartments of London, New York and Sydney are invariably in the best locations. With the historical downtown and waterfront area fast becoming the showpiece of Auckland, The Antipodean is likewise superbly positioned.
PAUL BROWN & ARCHITECTS
Paul Brown has over 20 years experience designing multi- storey residential developments in Auckland City. He has personally been involved in the development of more
than 30 apartment buildings in the city in that time. Of particular note is the Connaught apartments in Waterloo Quadrant completed in 1998, to this day considered one of the best apartment buildings in the city.
Paul Brown & Architects is currently working on a number of high profile developments including the St James Suites, 8 Hereford and The Dylan.
He has developed a great degree of specialist knowledge about the highly technical process of designing and constructing multi-storey buildings.
This knowledge means he can communicate closely and specifically with the multi-disciplinary team of experts that projects of this scale require.
With a particular talent for providing solutions that maximize building usage and work within council planning constraints, Paul Brown has developed
a reputation for perceptive and innovative design expertise, which has resulted in a strong track record of successful developments.
THE DEVELOPER — PAUL DOOLE
Paul Doole has been involved in the property industry for the greater part of his working life. He currently heads a commercial property investment company as well as undertaking selected property developments.
He was involved in the emerging Auckland property market in the mid to late 90’s which established the
early model for the purpose built residential high rise in the Auckland CBD. He was responsible for a number
of apartment buildings which include Darlinghurst and Connaught in the eastern CBD. For nearly 20 years he
has used the same architects, Paul Brown Architects and the same structural engineers, BGT Structures.
All Paul’s developments use the same building methodology ie steel re-enforced concrete frame, precast concrete floors, precast concrete cladding and, usually, a profile steel roof. There have been no ongoing water tightness issues in any of these buildings.
Paul believes Antipodean incorporates the fundamentals that define a successful modern apartment building. It addresses a near waterfront location with a strong emphasis on design and build quality, with well conceived public spaces, two entry lobbies and four lifts.
